Nowadays, digitalization and social media have been something common as we all are a digital citizen. Almost everyone in the world has an account in at least one social media platform. Nevertheless, a lot of people seem to be unaware about what things they should share, or the impacts of the posts they had shared. Thus, it’s important to educate people about digital footprints

Digital footprints is understood as a trail of people’s online behavior, or simply, what you post on the internet, left impressions about who you actually are. In this case, we can say that even though you have deleted your old post, you cannot simply remove it, as once you publish it, everyone can access it. We’ll never know what others would do with our posts. Thus, it’s very important to build positive digital footprints. But how? The answer is simple. We need to think before we share. We need to think about what the impact will be if we share this post, and will it affect others, or will it happen to be a negative content, or when do I post something related to my personal information, etc.

With the massive development of digitalization, Indonesian government, CSOs, academics, business sectors, communities, and media created a collaboration named Siberkreasi. One of Siberkreasi’s mission is to improve people’s digital literacy and spread the positive content massively and sustainably. Through our collaboration with Facebook in this “Asah Digital” program, we believe that we can go further in sounding the digital literacy especially in the grass-root level.

Nevertheless, a lot of people seem to be unaware about what things they should share, or the impacts of the posts they had shared. Thus, it’s important to educate people about digital footprints.
