Digital Citizenship and Privacy

At a time when everyone is actively participating in the digital world, sharing their information and expressing their views, putting more considerations on privacy and reputation of your digital identity are a must. It is important to conduct yourself as the proper digital citizen and to learn to utilise the tools available to create a positive space. Facebook offers us many such convenient tools to protect our privacy and participate safely in the digital environment. People must read through the information and tips section as well as follow relevant guidelines in order to maintain their privacy and to be aware of how to filter their own information for different viewers. I usually set my default share settings on private view, but when I need to share information that people need, I adjust to public view. I also perform routine privacy checkups to review recent activities as well as to consider if I should improve my passwords. As digital citizens, it's our responsibility to maintain a secure and private environment and conduct regular checkups.
