Dr. Masato Kajimoto
Dr. Masato Kajimoto is an assistant professor at the Journalism and Media Studies Centre, the University of Hong Kong. He specialized in news literacy education and misinformation ecosystem research in Asia.
With the Center for News Literacy at Stony Brook University where he also serves as an affiliate professor, Masato has led more than a few collaborative projects among media educators and journalists in Asia to develop teaching and learning materials that take into account the media landscape, political environment, socio-economic conditions, and cultural factors in different countries.
He is the chief producer of the online course on Coursera titled Making Sense of the News: News Literacy Lessons for Digital Citizens, and the founder of the online video series Strapline: News Literacy for the Rest of Us. Before beginning a career in teaching and research, he worked as an online reporter and web producer for CNN International.
Ibrahim ‘Ibba’ Bernardo
Ibrahim 'Ibba' Bernardo is a youth leader in technology and innovation, bringing with him extensive experience in web and software development, video game animation, and helping brands grow their retail and distribution network through digital literacy.
He represented the Philippines as an ASEAN Young Leader at the 2012 World Economic Forum in Bangkok and was part of the 2013 Asia 21 Young Leaders. Also a social entrepreneur, he is passionate about bringing technology to the base of the pyramid working on Sari Software Solutions to help micro entrepreneurs run their businesses and become digitally and financially literate.
He also contributes to various local publications as technology journalist for T3, Gamesmaster, and Adobo Magazine. Ibba is currently the Chief Executive Officer of I Am Cardboard PH, an End to End Virtual Reality solutions provider, multi-awarded for their immersive historical virtual reality experiences for the Ayala Museum.
Prof. Vu Minh Khuong
Prof. Vu Minh Khuong is an award-winning Associate Professor at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (National University of Singapore).
He has published two books and more than 20 papers in prestigious academic journals. He frequently writes press articles on development policy issues. He is also a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Telecommunications Policy and the Journal of East Asian Policy.
Professor Vu has provided extensive consulting and advisory services to international organizations and government agencies. Before transitioning into academia, he held various government positions in Vietnam.
He is also an associate editor of the Journal of Telecommunications Policy and a member of the Editorial Board the Journal of East Asian Policy.
Associate Prof. Pijitra Suppasawatgul
Associate Prof. Pijitra Suppasawatgul is an Associate Professor for Faculty of Mass Communication at the Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand.
Her research focuses specifically on Digital Literacy, policy related issues on the Internet, and the impact of media and broadcasting in Thailand.
She is also a board member of the News Broadcasting Council of Thailand and an avid columnist for the Krunthepturakit Newspaper.
